Centennial Archaeology was founded in 1984 by Dr. Christian J. Zier in Fort Collins, Colorado, to provide archaeological and historical consulting services to clients in a variety of fields. In 2014 the business was purchased by two long-term employees. The company has grown over its 35-year history to include a permanent staff of professional archaeologists, a GIS specialist, computer graphics specialist, technical editor, laboratory and report assistants, and office personnel. The company is designed to adapt quickly to a wide range of projects and Centennial archaeologists routinely supervise archaeological crews of up to 30 people. In addition to staff in Centennial’s Fort Collins office, Centennial has available the resources of paleontologists, ethnobotanists, and geomorphologists to conduct specialized studies for Centennial projects.
